Our Story

Back in the late 1980s, my dad came home one day with a bag of little orange sponge rubber balls from work. We tossed one to our cats—and they went absolutely crazy for them.

Those little balls became a staple of our house. Over the years, generations of cats chased them down hallways, carried them around in their mouths, snagged them with their claws, and inevitably batted them under couches, beds, and refrigerators... only for them to be rediscovered weeks later and the fun to start all over again.

Years later, after college, traveling, and eventually becoming a foster cat dad, I realized something was missing.

I didn't have those little orange balls anymore.

I searched for them everywhere, hoping someone still made them. While they were originally manufactured for industrial use, I knew firsthand that they had brought countless hours of joy to the cats in my life. When I finally tracked down a manufacturer, I decided it was time to share them with other cat lovers, too.

That's how Swaballs™ was born.

Our mission is simple: bring back one of the greatest cat toys most people have never heard of. Whether your cat is a fearless hunter, a midnight zoomie champion, or a professional toy-loser, we hope Swaballs become their new favorite obsession. I've watched these little sponge balls entertain cats for more than 35 years, and I still haven't found another toy that gets the same reaction.
